The class meets in room SZB 468 (lectures) and the
IPLab's Annex (lab sessions) on
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. See the
schedule for details.
Course Objectives
You will:
- Learn how to use various tools to explore the Internet
- Learn how to communicate effectively via the Internet
- Practice basic UNIX skills
- Create a website on a topic of your choice
- Have an opportunity to discuss the possible future direction of
Internet services
Grading
A if 90-100 points, B if 80-89, C if 70-79, D if 60-69, and F if below 60 points.

| Final test (Week 4) | 25 points

| Creation of a simple page (Week 1) | 10 points
|
| Defining and researching a topic (Week 2) | 5 points
|
| Creation of a simple form (Week 3) | 5 points

| Final Project (Week 5) | 45 points

- Work turned in late will be marked down (-20% per day)
- All students need to signup for a GSLIS login account.
- We shall waste no paper: all work will be done electronically!
